Issue: 54                "Following Your Dream"             Dec 2, 2001
=====================================================

Dear Readers,

Originally, this issue I was going to talk about my "baby girl".
However, I just received a very interesting email from a fellow
JacksonFive member. I would really like to share it with you.

This email came from a loyal reader in China. She would like to
share with us some of her recent experiences. I'm sure you will
enjoy reading it. I know many of you have similar experiences. If
you have anything similar to share, I would love hearing from you.
Email me now! I'm always happy to see that our newsletter, in its
small way, is helping people around the world "follow their dreams".

I also have a dream. My dream is that our newsletter becomes much
much more than just a vehicle for learning English. I hope it
becomes a positive force in this world.

  * * * start * * *
How are you? I'm Jane from ShenZhen China, do you still remember
  me?

Long time not to receive your newsletter, undoubtedly, you are very
busy and happy, since you are waiting for your new baby's coming and
are looking after other JacksonFive children, this is an actually
good news for you, and for all of our JacksonFive members. Wish you
and your wife have a lovely baby.

During no your newsletters period, I read all of your past articles
carefully in my spare time. I am always shocked by your words which
are so fun and very easy to understand and remember. All the time,
I can't help forwarding these good articles to my friend and discuss
with them, or print out read a loud in the morning, even sometimes
I had to stop for thinking about for a while, from your hard
working, we can learn not only English skills, but also learn how
to get along with people, how to struggle for dream. Refer to
"dream", one of your newsletter (16) questions is "Have you ever
had to make a similar tough decision? "Have you ever had to
sacrifice something in pursuit of your dreams?", I'd like to share
  my thinking with you:

Ten years ago, being a young teacher, I made a tough and stupid
decision was to gave up teaching. At that time, I just knew the
outside word is very wonderful, and the opportunity to success is
much more than in my home town. At my that age, maybe "success"
  simply means money or fame.

However, after many years later, I found it is so shallow, most of
us have not the same feeling like yours, such as: "Put something
back into the society we live in", "Help others grow and in the
process grow yourself", or "rather than continuing to complain about
your environment and society, why not do something about it?", this
is a very high realm for people, it is exactly great, successful
happiness. I admire you very much.

On the way to pursuit my dreams, I didn't sacrifice anything but
lost my dream! In fact, till now I understand that my really dream
is to be a good teacher who can not only teach students knowledge
but also teach them how to learn. Regarding this, you are the expert
in this field, your easy and fun techniques for acquiring life-ling
English is very worth studying for many teachers all over the world.
So, after thinking hard, I have a tough decision again ^_^ That is
I will give up my current career to go on studying English to
improve Oral, and my best dream is your JacksonFive school will open
in China so that we can have a chance to enjoy your wonderful
  teaching techniques.

By the way, ShenZhen is one of the best beautiful, opening city in
China, more and more foreigners like to live and work in ShenZhen,
especial in NanTou - SheKou. At here, you can not only enjoy very
nice weather but also various original, delicious food all over the
country. she was titled as the international garden city by related
  committee in 2000.

Welcome to visit China, you will find many wonderful scenes and
interesting culture which can be seen in Taiwan.

I am going to pen off here. Thanks for you attention.

                                                Regards!
                                                Jane
