Issue: 70       "Changing of the Seasons"     Feb 22, 2004
=====================================================

Dear Reader,

Have you found that it is difficult to dress recently? One day it is
cold and another hot. Daytime and evening temperatures also vary a
lot. It is easy to catch a cold in this weather so always take a
light jacket with you. Myself, I like to take my trusty
"wind breaker" (def: thin jacket that is used to block the wind
rather than the cold). Looking outside my window right now, I see
that it is going to be a warm and sunny day. I'll have to remember
to water my "bonsai's" (def: dwarf trees).

Talking about seasonal changes, one of our readers, Christina, sent
  us something great:
"I want to share some incredible pictures with you. Alaska is the
northernmost state of the United States, and I believe that it is
always cold up there. Even though it is such a cold place, it
still has distinguished four seasons. You can visit the following
web address at http://home.fujifilm.com/alaska/index.html to see
those beautiful pictures of Alaska and listen to great music.
Those pictures capture not only the beauty of Alaskan natural
scenery but also the vitality of the wild animals. Hoping you
  enjoy those pictures.
                                                      Christina"
Thanks for sharing Christina and if anyone has something good to
share with the JacksonFive family, please send it to me.

Talking about Alaska, it is very "coincidental" that one of my
parents asked me to help her plan an Alaskan cruise just a couple
weeks before Christina sent this to me. She found Christina's website
very interesting as well (def: lucky chance).

I've become interested in taking cruises recently. I haven't gone to
Alaska or anywhere too far. I've taken the Star Cruises that leaves
Keelung on the weekends. I've been on two cruises already and
enjoyed them very much. What is it like? Have you been to Las Vegas?
It is like being in a Las Vegas hotel and floating on the ocean, away
from your regular busy life. I don't gamble so I always go see the
shows and took every opportunity to go dancing (with Chloe). Funny
enough, there are many families aboard that have the same idea you
do, so you will see them everywhere and make many new friends. As
they say, the worst part of taking a cruise is that once you start,
  you can't stop.

I was going to write this email last week, but I got "tied-up"
(def: busy). I'm in the middle of organizing a 2-week summer tour to
Canada for my students. It is kind of fun. I'm already imagining all
the fun things that I can show them, all the things that I grew up
with. My students are like my own children so it will be great to
show them Canada and my own childhood.

As well, I've been very excited about something else. I have started
collecting some interesting photo's that I will show you in the next
newsletter. I won't tell you what they are and it will be up to you
to figure out what they are ^_^ Stay tuned!
